Bonita Bay Pickleball Club

Join in the fun! Pickleball is highly addictive. A relatively new racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and ping-pong, it is played on a doubles badminton court. (The two tennis courts at Riverwalk Park have yellow lines indicating the Pickleball court dimensions.) Played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a wiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles, it is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

The name is derived from Pickles, the family cocker spaniel of one of the co-inventors of Pickleball, who used to chase stray balls and then hide in the bushes. The USA Pickleball Association estimates there are currently between 40 and 50 thousand players worldwide.

The Bonita Bay Pickleball Club welcomes new members to participate both in open play and the social events. Whether  you’ve played before, or want to try a new sport, you will enjoy the enthusiastic camaraderie.
